Agroecology traceability for East Africa
From soil to shelf,
vouched for by name.
EATS traces every harvest back to exactly who grew it and how — the farmer, the agroecological practices they used, the group that vouched for them, and the agronomist who checked their work — all verified under the Participatory Guarantee System protocols at the heart of the East African Organic Products Standard.

How it works
Four steps, one unbroken record
A farmer logs the work
Planting, compost, weeding, harvest — every activity is recorded against the crop and plot it belongs to, by the farmer who did it.
The group vouches for it
Fellow group members certify the activity against a shared checklist — the Participatory Guarantee System at the heart of EAOPS. An assigned agronomist adds professional oversight on top.
Produce becomes a traceable lot
Harvests are pooled into a lot — from one farmer or many — keeping every contributor's name and quantity attached, never averaged away.
A label carries the proof
Printed at the farm and again at the point of sale, the QR code opens the full record to anyone who scans it — no login required.
Why this counts as proof
Built on East Africa's own organic standard
The East African Organic Products Standard doesn't require expensive third-party inspectors — it recognizes Participatory Guarantee Systems, where farmers who share the same land and risk hold each other accountable. EATS is that system, digitized and made visible.
- Peers who share the same risk certify each other's practice
- An independent agronomist reviews the group, not just the paperwork
- Every record stays attributed to a named person and date — nothing is anonymized into an average
- The full chain is visible to anyone who scans the code, not gated behind a certificate you have to trust blindly

Who it's for
One system, three vantage points
Farmer groups
Register your group once. Members log activities, certify each other's work, and build a public record of practice without paperwork or middlemen.
Agronomists
Oversee the groups you're assigned to. Your certification carries the professional weight that complements — never replaces — peer accountability.
Buyers & consumers
Scan the code on the bag. See the group, the farmer, the dates, and who vouched for it — the same evidence a certifier would look for.
Every bag tells its own story.
